A B O U T M E
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, Tasha attended college at North Carolina A&T and earned her degree in Journalism and Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. She was self-employed as a PR Consultant and started her own clothing brand, Shop TashJMackk. Tasha wanted to be in the entertainment business and went to New York University where she obtained her Master’s in Public Relations and Corporate Communications.

During her time in New York, she interned at VH1, Comedy Central and BET under Stephen Hill who at the time was the Director of Programming. She moved back to Charlotte and although she was already established there, there weren’t many entertainment companies that she could work for. After visiting Los Angeles multiple times, she decided in January of this year to officially move to L.A., with no plan but just her faith.
Aside from her new other businesses, she is the founder of Black Girls In Media, a community of Black women from all over the world in the media space that gives them the opportunity to network, share ideas, share their trials and tribulations and much more. Tasha created Black Girls In Media when she realized she lacked a group of like-minded women to connect with. The group now has over 15,000 members and continues to grow.
[“Patience is key. Social media will make you feel like you’re behind or not doing enough,”]
What keeps her going is knowing she’s making an impact and people see her. She’s learning that although the hardest part of achieving success is going through the many seasons, when you’re in a loss, it’s just a season it’s not permanent. What’s next for Tasha? Stay tuned for what she has next in store!
